Handball is an Olympic sport enjoyed worldwide. It is also steadily growing in popularity in Malta.
Its dynamic, fast-paced, and constantly changing nature makes handball exciting to play and engaging to watch.
is one of the leading clubs in Maltese handball. For the 2025/26 scholastic year, the club’s nursery will once again organise age-appropriate training programmes for students aged 11 to 15 (Years 7–10).
Programme focus
The programme focuses on developing fundamental skills, building an understanding of the game, and promoting teamwork.
Players will gain valuable experience by learning individual technical and tactical skills, as well as improving group-tactical concepts, all within a fun and enjoyable environment.
Festivals and competitions
Players will be registered with the (MHA) and will have the opportunity to participate in festivals and/or competitions organised throughout the year.
Training expectations (October–May season)
The club believes that young players should train at least twice per week. Ideally, players are encouraged to attend three training sessions per week.

Under 13 boys (Year 7 & Year 8 students – scholastic year 2025/26):
• Mondays: Hamrun Handball Sports Pavilion — 17:00–18:30
• Tuesdays: STMC Santa Lucia Secondary School Gym — 17:00–18:30
• Fridays: STMC Santa Lucia Secondary School Gym — 17:00–18:15
Under 15 boys (Year 9 & Year 10 students – scholastic year 2025/26):
• Mondays: Hamrun Handball Sports Pavilion — 17:00–18:30
• Tuesdays: STMC Santa Lucia Secondary School Gym — 17:00–18:30
• Fridays: Cottonera Sports Complex — 15:00–16:30
Under 13 & Under 15 girls (Year 7 to Year 10 students – scholastic year 2025/26):
• Mondays: Hamrun Handball Sports Pavilion — 17:00–18:30
• Tuesdays: STMC Santa Lucia Secondary School Gym — 17:00–18:30
• Fridays: STMC Santa Lucia Secondary School Gym — 18:15–19:30
Price (entire season)
• Two training sessions per week — €180
• Three training sessions per week — €220
Tax rebate scheme
As La Salle Handball Club is registered with and is an approved provider of non-formal education, parents may benefit from the Tax Rebate Scheme (up to a maximum of €300 per child on the FS3 tax return). With parental consent, the club will handle the necessary paperwork.
Attire
During training sessions, players should wear either the official La Salle Handball kit or a comfortable sports kit of their choice, together with gym shoes.
During Under 13 MHA festivals or friendly matches, players are required to wear the La Salle kit (maroon shirt, grey shorts, white socks) and gym shoes. For Under 15 competitions, players will be provided with a numbered playing shirt.
Equipment
The nursery will provide all necessary training equipment, including handballs, cones, and bibs, during training sessions.
Start date
The first training session will take place on Monday, 6 October 2025.
